Despite the rain, the overall experience was good. The driver drove smoothly, and there was plenty of time. I would suggest stopping a little longer at the Tendo stop, as 50 minutes was too rushed for sushi, and the food service there is rather slow. We soaked our feet in the Ginzan Onsen foot bath, but since it was a weekday, many shops were closed. The place wasn't very big; it would have been better if we could have stayed until the lights came on.
Using the pick-up and drop-off service from Sendai to the onsen ryokan (hot spring resort) saved our group of eight the trouble of dragging our luggage around and changing vehicles. It also saved us time and energy, allowing us to arrive at the ryokan early and explore the surrounding area. We found it fantastic.
We were fortunate to have Tommy as our guide. Throughout the trip, he served travelers in Chinese, English, and Japanese, and also created a group chat to share useful information such as meeting times and locations, and restaurants near our accommodation. His itinerary was well-organized and smooth. Before arriving at each attraction, he provided a brief introduction to the site and explained how to best utilize time to experience its unique features, allowing everyone to better allocate their time. While the four attractions weren't extensive, their distance from Tokyo meant that each place had ample time for exploration, preventing a rushed experience. The tranquil moments of people and animals in Fox Village, the warm and inviting hot spring town of Ginzan Onsen, the chilling winds and ice monsters of Zao Snow Trees, and the occasional encounter with the Ouchi-juku Snow Festival—each offered unique surprises and experiences, making it a truly worthwhile journey. Highly recommended!
Despite the bad weather, heavy snow, and a large number of tourists, our tour guide, Wang Lili, was quick to adapt and ensured that we were able to visit the hot spring area and see the snow trees within the allotted time. The day trip was really convenient, especially when the weather was bad; it was so good to have someone to take care of us.
Thanks to Ashley, our trilingual guide, for leading us to the legendary Spirited Away scene and even encountering a blizzard, which added a unique touch to Ginzan Onsen. We also appreciate the driver's professionalism in taking us back to Sendai Station on time.
This family trip included both the elderly and children. After assessing the transportation and the needs of the members, we decided to hire a car. The Chinese-speaking driver was very considerate and talkative. In short, everyone agreed that the trip was very worthwhile and a great experience!
