The exhibition is small, but interesting. It focuses on Van Gogh’s family and their role in supporting him in life and helping his reputation after his death. They also exhibit other artists who influenced Van Gogh. There’s a lot of explanation in Japanese and English, and this creates backup as people read them. Suggest going early. There were lines when I arrived before 11 am, but the lines when I left the exhibition were much longer.
Overall, the itinerary was good, and the tour guide was very friendly. We were lucky that day, getting a clear view of Mt. Fuji's summit for several minutes from the 5th station, which was truly moving. However, the 90-minute stop at Gotemba Outlet meant we didn't get to visit many shops, which was a bit of a shame. Overall, though, it's still a very worthwhile trip!
Located at the end of Ameya-Yokochō, it's quite quiet at night. There's a FamilyMart nearby. The reception staff speak Chinese and offer free welcome drinks and amenities. Bottled water isn't provided in the room and must be purchased at the counter. Breakfast is served in the first-floor restaurant, and is a set menu that can be eaten in or taken away.
