It's just one stop away from Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal. The bear interaction is closed in winter, so it's quick and easy if you just want to watch. When you throw out some sweets, the bears beg for them and go after them, which is adorable. It only takes about an hour, so you can enjoy it while still saving time before checking into your hotel.
Expenses are about the same if you DIY this from Nagoya. With this tour, you’ll be saved from the hassle of transferring transportation and queueing for the tickets. The Japanese tour guide had a lot of fun facts along the way, plus there is also an English tour guide on board. Going to Shinhotaka Ropeway, we had two stopovers, 1st is a 20min toilet break, 2nd is a 50min lunch (free). Going back to Nagoya, we had a 20min stopover for toilet break. There is a hoba miso bread (free) given as a snack. At about 12:50 we arrived at the base of the ropeway. 1st station ropeway takes 4mins, then a 3min walk going to the 2nd station and a 7min ropeway rise at the 2nd station. At around 13:30 we arrived at the viewing deck. Then 15:30 is our meetup at the bus so we need to catch the 14:30 2nd station ropeway and 15:00 1st station ropeway. Although short, it is understandable as the drive is long.
Director Guo meticulously planned the time at each attraction, and before we got off at each spot, he would inform us of the must-try restaurants and places to visit first, ensuring everyone could fully enjoy the trip. My husband and I remarked on how pleasant it felt to be walking on clouds. Thank you, Director Guo, for your care these past few days. Next time I have the chance to return to Nagoya, I'll definitely look for you again.
