We left our hotel in Ubud at 7:00 AM. Our guide contacted us via WhatsApp the day before to confirm our desired departure time, which gave us peace of mind. On the day, we discussed whether to visit Besakih Temple or Lempuyang Temple first, and we decided to start with Besakih Temple. We arrived at Besakih Temple just after 8:30 AM. A dedicated temple guide, separate from the tour guide, guided us through the temple. After the tour, the guide asked for a tip. I gave him 10,000 rupiah. He asked for more, but I declined. We then went to a Luwak coffee shop. After receiving an explanation about coffee and spices, we sampled several types of coffee and tea for free, and were welcome to purchase if we liked them. We arrived at Lempuyang Temple just before 12:00 PM. The wait time for taking photos at the famous "Gate of Heaven" was just under an hour. When you purchase your ticket, you'll be given a serial number for the photo. While the wait can usually be as long as two hours, perhaps due to the cloudy weather, it was relatively smooth. While waiting, we enjoyed a stroll around the temple grounds. For lunch, we went to a restaurant near Goa Lawah Temple. I requested a local restaurant, and they took me to one with a great atmosphere and delicious food. The satay was especially tasty. The tour finished in Ubud town just after 4pm. It was a very fulfilling tour, as we were able to efficiently visit the main spots in one day. The guide spoke Japanese very well, was easy to understand, and was very helpful from start to finish. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to travel comfortably in Japanese.
