[JR PASS Kansai-Hiroshima Area Rail Pass (5-Day)]

  • For details on the valid travel area, please refer to the official website.
  • Adult pass holders may bring up to two children aged 1–5 years old free of charge. From the third child onward, a Child Rail Pass must be purchased.
  • Infants under 1 year old can travel for free.
  • A Child Rail Pass is required for each child in the following cases: ① When a child occupies a reserved seat (Ordinary Car Reserved Seat). ② When a child is traveling alone.
  • In addition to standard JR Green Windows, JR PASS eMCO tickets can also be collected from green JR ticket machines in the JR West area marked with the “5489” service sign. For more information, please check the official website.
  • When collecting the JR PASS from a ticket machine, a passport with an IC chip is required. If your passport does not contain an IC chip, please proceed to a staffed counter for ticket collection.

1. Ticket Machine Self-Service Exchange: At stations with green ticket machines marked with the “PASSPORT” icon, you can operate the machine yourself to receive your physical tickets.

  • For detailed locations, please refer to this website.
  • For eMCO exchange notes, please refer to this website.
  • If the machine is out of service or your passport does not have an IC chip, please go to the designated station’s green window to exchange for physical tickets.

2. JR West Green Window Staff-Assisted Exchange: Go to a JR Green Window and present your electronic exchange voucher (eMCO) along with your passport to receive physical tickets.

  • When using the ticket machine, your voucher and passport name are not checked.
  • When exchanging at the counter, staff will verify the voucher and passport name.
  • Only travelers with IC chip passports can use the self-service machines. If your passport lacks an IC chip or the machine fails, please exchange at the counter.

3. Receiving Reserved Seat Tickets: Before use, take your physical ticket to a green ticket machine or Green Window to exchange for reserved seat tickets.

  • For detailed instructions, please refer to this website.
  • If reserved seats are fully booked or not pre-exchanged, you may use the pass to board unreserved cars.
  • For passes allowing unlimited reserved seat exchanges, from the 7th exchange onward, reservations must be made at a Green Window and cannot be processed at the machines.
