Dive into Japanese mythology at the Amano Iwato Shrine, the sacred site where the sun goddess Amaterasu hid, plunging the world into darkness. Explore the nearby Amano Yasugawara, where visitors stack stones to make wishes. From July to September, enjoy a free ice cream while you’re here.

Prepare to be wowed by Takachiho Gorge, a stunning valley formed by ancient volcanic activity.
