Product Info

  • Yamadera | Climb the thousand stone steps to cleanse your worries and soul

Also known as 'Risshaku-ji Temple', it is a famous spiritual site in Yamagata. With 1,015 stone steps, it is said that reaching the summit will eliminate worries and bring inner peace. Along the way, there are many historical ruins and stone monuments inscribed with poems, making every step of the climb culturally significant. Standing on the observation deck, you can overlook the entire Yamagata mountain range, experiencing a double baptism of the soul and vision.

  • Ginzan Onsen | Step into a nostalgic hot spring town that feels like an anime scene

Famous as a filming location for classic anime, Ginzan Onsen is a rare hot spring town in Japan that retains its complete Showa-era atmosphere. Wooden inns, dessert shops, and cafes line the stone-paved streets, creating a retro vibe. Stroll along the Ginzan River and relax your feet at the free footbath area, experiencing the healing power of the natural hot spring source. It is recommended to bring your own towel to make the footbath experience more convenient.

  • Tarumizu Ruins | A mysterious place of ascetic practice hidden in the mountains

(After visiting Yamadera, if there is remaining time, we will visit the Tarumizu Ruins.)

Located deep in the mountains behind Yamadera, this is an ancient sacred site filled with spiritual energy. It is said to be the place where Jikaku Daishi Ennin, who founded Yamadera, practiced. Legend has it that Master Ennin was deeply attracted by the solemn landscape of this place and decided to establish a Tendai sect spiritual site here, retreating into the 'Ennin Shukuseki' cave deep in the rock wall to conceive the blueprint for the founding of Yamadera.

Within the ruins, you can see the torii gate of the Kofune Shrine and the Inari Shrine enshrined there, and near the rock crevices, there is an image of Fudo Myoo. The giant honeycomb-like rock walls eroded by water over many years, combined with the vermilion torii gates and deep caves, weave together a breathtaking beauty, making it one of the premier power spots in Yamagata Prefecture, allowing people to feel the sacred atmosphere where nature and faith blend.
