The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world's leading mountain sightseeing routes, traversing the Northern Alps with peaks reaching 3,000 meters in altitude. When it comes to spring events, the world-famous 'Yuki no Otani' is a must!
Roads are cleared by gradually cutting through the snow that has piled up near the Murodo Terminal in this heavy snowfall region.
The approximately 500-meter section created by the 'snow walls' during snow removal is called 'Yuki no Otani'. Because of snowdrifts, the snow in the Otani area is particularly deep, sometimes exceeding 20 meters in height!
During the 'Yuki no Otani Walk', you can walk along a path opened for pedestrians on one side of the road, flanked by walls of snow.
Seeing the snow walls up close is more impressive than you can imagine! The contrast between the white snow and the blue sky is truly refreshing.
The 'Snow Corridor', created by clearing the path between the Murodo Terminal rooftop and the Tateyama Nature Conservation Center, reaches heights of over 8 meters in April, offering an experience just as impressive as the Yuki no Otani.
We recommend visiting in April, right after the road opens, to see the highest and whitest snow walls. The altitude is high and the temperatures are still winter-like, so be sure to prepare a windproof jacket.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes. If you are concerned about snow glare, sunglasses and sunscreen are also recommended.

A minimum of 25 traveler(s) are required for the tour to depart. If the number of participants does not reach the minimum requirement, the tour will be canceled. An email regarding tour cancellation will be sent 7 day(s) before the departure date
Please arrive at the designated location 10 minute(s) before the scheduled departure time, as the tour will depart on time
Meals are not included for children under the age of 2
*If the Tateyama Toll Road is closed before departure, the tour will be canceled and a full refund will be given. Those who arrive at the meeting point at the meeting time will be provided with the lunch box included in the itinerary.
*If the Tateyama Toll Road is closed after departure, your tour will be changed to the Tonami Tulip Fair and a stroll around Shirakawa-go, and no refunds will be given. Your return time will be approximately 1-2 hours earlier.
