By car: From Osaka or Nagoya, take the Meishin Expressway to the Kyoto Higashi IC (approximately 33 km). From Fukui, take the Hokuriku Expressway to the Kinomoto IC (approximately 60 minutes, approximately 53 km). From the Hira Ramp Exit on the Kosai Road, go straight. Turn left at the end of the road (National Route 161). Then turn right at the first corner and go straight toward Lake Biwa. (8 minutes by car from the Hira Ramp Exit.) Parking fee: ¥1,000 (standard-sized car/day) By train: From Omi-Maiko Station on the JR Kosei Line, walk approximately 20 minutes toward Hira.
