The whale sighting rate for Okinawa's winter whale watching is very high, statistically reaching 98%. From December to April each year is when humpback whales migrate from colder waters to Okinawa's warmer seas to breed and give birth, making this the prime season for observing them. During this period, you can almost guarantee sightings of these magnificent marine creatures daily, with excellent chances on both morning and afternoon tours.
