Kodo is a group that seeks to reimagine traditional musical arts, centered around taiko drumming, for the modern era, discovering limitless possibilities. They debuted at the Berlin Festival in 1981, and have since given over 7,000 performances in over 50 countries and regions around the world. In recent years, they have expanded the scope of their activities, including collaborations with Hatsune Miku and MIYAVI. In 2023, they received the 2023 Commissioner's Award from the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
