- 16:30~ Arrive at Cilan Forest Recreation Area, check in, and enjoy free time

－ Attraction Introduction －

・Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area
Known as a 'fairyland on earth,' it covers an area of 12,631 hectares at an altitude of nearly 2,000 meters. Managed by the Luodong Forest District Office, the area includes the Nanhu Mountain range, Sanshing Mountain range, and the Daba Jian Mountain spur. It is famous for its preserved primitive forests, including Taiwan red cypress, hinoki, and hemlock, and was once ranked alongside Alishan and Baxianshan as one of Taiwan's three major forest farms. Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area offers different scenery throughout the four seasons; spring is colorful with blooming flowers, and the landscape changes with the seasonal foliage. In autumn, fiery red maple trees bring vibrant colors to Taipingshan. Additionally, mountain cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, apricots, and Taipingshan white cherry blossoms display their unique charm throughout the seasons.

・Cilan Forest Recreation Area
Converted from the Cilan Nursery, it is located at the confluence of the Lanyang River, Duowang River, and Tianguer River. Originally a base for the Forest Conservation Division to provide seedlings for forest restoration, it, along with the Mingchi Nursery, served as a primary seedling cultivation site. To facilitate seedling cultivation, staff from the Forest Conservation Division used stones and soil to build terraced seedbeds. The main tree species cultivated include Japanese cedar, Taiwan red cypress, Taiwan hinoki, Taiwan zelkova, and camphor trees, achieving excellent results.

・Magao Ecological Park
Enter through the No. 100 Forest Road control station between Mingchi and Cilan on the Northern Cross-Island Highway, and travel for another 12 kilometers to reach the Magao Giant Tree Park. Every day after noon, the area becomes shrouded in thick fog, obscuring visibility until the next morning when sunlight pierces through the forest to illuminate the mossy ground. The Snow Mountain Range, the Lanyang River, and the year-round mist create this spiritual land of Magao. Walking through the Giant Tree Park, many things appear hazy, but the only things clearly visible are the sheer scale and vitality of this place.
