    Witness a one-day-only special geisha and maiko dance performance at Kamishichiken Kaburenjo in January. Experience the annual "Kitano Odori" at Kamishichiken Kaburenjo, held every spring. Celebrate spring in Kyoto with a dance performance by about 10 geishas and maikos. See traditional dances passed down through the generations at Kamishichiken in this special performance. The Hanayagi-ryu dance school follows the flow of Kabuki choreography, preserving old traditions while incorporating new experiments.

  • Performance locations vary depending on the performance date. Please be sure to check the meeting time and location and arrive with plenty of time to spare.

  • In order to avoid causing inconvenience to other guests, we ask that children under the age of 6 not participate.

  • It is not possible to take photos or videos during the performance.

  • Eating and drinking are not allowed in the bleachers. Also, smoking is prohibited during the tour.

  • If a performance is canceled due to unavoidable circumstances, the tour may also be canceled.

  • A total of two people, one geisha and one maiko, will appear during the Q&A and commemorative photo session.

  • When taking photos with the geisha and maiko, the staff will take 2-3 photos for each group. Please hand your camera and cell phone to the staff. Also, please follow the instructions of the staff.

  • Due to time constraints, we may not be able to ask all the geisha and geisha questions.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations 11 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
  • For cancellations made 8 to 10 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 20% will apply
  • For cancellations made 2 to 7 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 30% will apply
  • For cancellations made 1 to 1 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 40% will apply
  • Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.

  • Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time.
