The pocket WiFi we rented was very easy to use and convenient throughout our trip. Setup was straightforward, and the connection was stable and reliable in most areas we visited. It’s suitable for those who want to conserve their phone battery, since you won’t need to rely heavily on mobile data. It’s also a great option for travelers who prefer to avoid the hassle of setting up an eSIM or changing SIM cards.
Pocket WiFi concerns despite purchasing an unlimited data plan: (1) there were times when the pocket WiFi could not connect to the internet; and (2) we were unable to update mobile apps.
Overall, it is still a practical and user-friendly option for staying connected while traveling, but improvements in consistency and transparency on data limits would make the experience even better.
Price - quite expensive, food quite reasonable but not that affordable.
Location - far from Metro Manila. Around 2-3 hours away.
Facilities- world class! Many attractions to choose from. Kids will definitely love it!
Others - it is not crowded, place is clean
This trip involved layovers in Hong Kong and Dubai, and the internet connection at the airports was consistently smooth. Upon arrival in Mauritius, before applying for a local eSIM, I was able to use LINE smoothly with this eSIM. It was also fortunate that I had purchased this eSIM beforehand, as my return flight was canceled due to the US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran, forcing me to reroute via Malaysia and Hong Kong back to Taiwan. This eSIM proved useful at the Malaysian airport. Although I only used this eSIM at airports in these few countries, the internet connection was consistently smooth when watching YouTube, Netflix, and using LINE (text messages and calls), with no issues with intermittent call quality.
The connection was smooth and I was able to travel without any problems!
