• Activities: Cosplay events at Oasis 21 and other venues (stages, photo sessions), World Cosplay Championship (a world championship where cosplayers from various countries and regions compete with cosplay performances)

The World Cosplay Summit (WCS) is one of the world's largest cosplay events, which began in 2003 and will celebrate its 24th anniversary this year.

It is an event where cosplayers and cosplay fans who love Japanese pop culture, such as anime, manga, and games, gather to create a new form of international and cultural exchange.

Every year, over 200,000 people visit, and cosplayers from all over the world gather in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, to deepen their friendships.

One of its features is the support it receives from local governments, administrations, and diplomatic missions abroad. The number of participating countries and regions increases with each event, making it a cosplay event that attracts attention from all over the world.

For the World Cosplay Championship, a competition to determine the best cosplay performance by cosplayers from around the world, a record-breaking 42 countries and regions (planned) will gather in Nagoya, the holy land of cosplay, this year to showcase cosplay performances based on Japanese works.

At a time when Japanese pop culture is attracting global attention, this tournament is an appealing event for adults and children alike, not just for cosplay fans.

To make some summer memories, please come to Nagoya and enjoy the performances of the best cosplayers from around the world. (A separate ticket is required to watch the World Cosplay Championship.)
