Big Bear was very enthusiastic and professional, taking many beautiful photos for us. His driving skills were also top-notch, and we slept very comfortably throughout the journey. We had plenty of time to explore before our departure.
The timing of this trip was perfect. A round trip along the Smangus Sacred Tree Trail came just in time for our departure. Although it rained during the trip, the trail was flat and easy to walk, completely unaffected by the bad weather. However, the itinerary mentioned tipping, which I personally find inappropriate. It would be better to include it in the tour cost to avoid any awkwardness or confusion about whether or not to tip at the end.
Our guide and driver, a bit of a rascal, provided thorough explanations along the way, giving us a deeper understanding of the indigenous culture. Although it wasn't cherry blossom season, the scenery was beautiful, the trail was gentle, and it was well worth a visit. Winter nights can be quite cold, so dress warmly.
The driver was exceptionally smooth, knowledgeable about all the scenic spots along the way, and intimately familiar with the unique characteristics of each tribe we passed through. The campsite was also well-chosen; the views of the mountains at dusk and dawn, illuminated by different lights, offered varying vistas, and it was also perfect for stargazing at night. It was clear the travel agency aimed to strike a balance between commercialization and authentic tribal experiences. Aside from the slightly chilly nighttime temperatures, the trip to Smangus in late autumn was very comfortable.
