I rented a car to travel directly from Taoyuan Airport to Taichung. It was very convenient to be able to pick up the car right at Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 and drive it there. Unlike other rental car companies, there was no deposit required for the initial rental, which was nice. I was informed that fines for traffic violations, such as running red lights, would be paid here by entering my credit card information. I could sign up for full coverage insurance on-site for NTD 700 per day by credit card. Since the tank was full, I didn't have to worry about gas levels. Highway tolls were paid by credit card upon returning the car. Being able to pay for all rental fees with my credit card was very convenient. The car had driven approximately 75,000 km and, as expected from a rental car, came with basic features. I recommend bringing a phone holder and charger. While it doesn't have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you can still listen to music via Bluetooth. The hatchback's trunk is spacious enough to accommodate a 24-inch suitcase and a 20-inch suitcase. The car was well-maintained, so there was no strange smell like cigarette smoke inside, which was nice. I drove about 385 kilometers from Friday to Sunday, and I got about 22.7 liters (649 NTD) of 95-octane gasoline (based on 28.6 NTD/L). My fuel economy was about 16.98 km/L. One downside is that you can return the car to the same spot you picked it up at the airport, but it's a bus-only area, so it can be difficult to find right away. I told the rental car staff I had trouble finding the spot, and they told me I could park in the P2 area and return it to the rental car desk. Thanks to them, I had a pleasant trip, and I plan to use them again.
