The experience lasted about an hour. Luckily, there were only two of us in our session. After the guide picked us up, he took us directly to the stone weir. After taking photos, we dug for oysters with tools. At first, I was a little scared to eat them raw, but since we were in Penghu, I decided to try it. Surprisingly, they were even less fishy than the cooked oysters I had the day before, with the saltiness of the sea and the natural sweetness of the oysters. Fishing on the stone weir was also fun; you could choose to release the fish you caught or take them home to cook. The waters around Jibei Island were incredibly clear. We cycled past Donglong Beach and lingered there for a long time; it's a very beautiful shell beach.
In the past, you had to arrive early to get a good spot for the National Day fireworks. This time, we had a boat to ride, so we didn't have to squeeze with the crowds. We could comfortably enjoy the sea breeze and stand on the side of the boat to see the dazzling fireworks. In a word, it was "awesome." Plus, the captain was very professional in controlling the boat, which provided a wide view. The only downside was that some rude boatmen arrived late and ended up in the back of the queue. They drove right past us after the fireworks had already started, which was really impolite.
It was a great trip, and the scenery on the island was worth the risk of seasickness. The only downside was that the motorcycle rental company on Qimei Island had very old vehicles, raising concerns about safety. It felt like they were just doing the bare minimum, as if they were doing something shoddy.
The Penghu island-hopping tour is truly worthwhile! From Qimei and Blue Hole to the Southern Four Islands, each stop offers different beautiful scenery and unique features. The seawater is stunningly clear, and the natural landscapes on the islands are beautifully preserved, making for stunning photos from every angle. The tour guide provided very detailed explanations along the way, not only showing us the sights but also sharing local stories and characteristics, adding depth to the entire trip and showcasing his professionalism and dedication. The itinerary was well-planned, with excellent time management, making the trip both relaxing and fulfilling. The seascape at Blue Hole is particularly breathtaking, reminiscent of international destinations, while the seascapes of the Southern Four Islands are incredibly relaxing. Qimei, in particular, is full of unique island charm. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, highly recommended for anyone planning a trip to Penghu and island hopping!
The tour bus driver/guide on Qimei Island provided a very detailed tour, and the itinerary around Qimei wasn't too rushed. I just wish there was more time for meals; only half an hour for lunch after disembarking felt a bit rushed.
