I came to the park knowing only the names of the main characters, but I enjoyed it more than I expected. There were many surprises that I didn't know, and they also explained the story to a certain extent, so unless you're extremely ignorant, you'll have no problem. I prioritized the theater show, night show, and fireworks, so there are a few facilities that I wasn't able to experience, but I was still satisfied. Greetings are up to luck, so I wasn't able to take photos with the character I wanted, but they came close during the show, so I was able to take lots of photos and videos of them individually. The prices for food and merchandise are theme park prices, but they're not too expensive and I think they're reasonable. I guess this is the reason for the negative reviews after actually going there, or rather, the low reviews? What I thought was that it's a place to enjoy the atmosphere like Sanrio Puroland, so if you go there expecting a theme park like Disney or Universal Studios Japan, it might be a bit disappointing. As with all outdoor areas, if the weather isn't good, you won't be able to enjoy the scenery outside and you might have to go home without experiencing the park's great features. There are plenty of places for children to enjoy, and there are plenty of places to rest if it's not too crowded, but... it feels more geared towards adults. Access isn't exactly great, so depending on your means of transportation or where you live, some people might not be able to enjoy it to the end and have to go home (this might be even more difficult in winter, when it gets dark early). Fortunately, the weather was good and it was the autumn foliage season, so we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery, but there are some things that you can't control just by how you enjoy it, so people's opinions will probably vary... Personally, I would recommend this place, but I think who you go with and the time of year are very important, so it's important to do your research beforehand.
With 2500 yen I saved up a lot
Day 1: Photography Museum (700), Panasonic Shiodome Museum (1200)
Day 2: Shoto museum (800), Ueno Zoo (600), Western Art Museum (100)
A few places offer a separate line for people with the pass, and we could save time too.
I don’t understand the negative reviews at all as it easily breaks even with 4+ places. Do a little research before your purchase. Of course, there are some places that only discount 100 yen but you can do the math before your purchase decision.
Arrangement was easy and smooth, driver is very professional and gave clear instructions where to wait for him. I did not top up for name placard service. The provided car was clean and well maintained. Highly recommended for this service especially when travelling with small kid.
The museum has a unique and stylish design with many great photo spots and ample space to relax and enjoy. Although I don't understand Japanese, I still thoroughly enjoyed every exhibition, especially the Focus Bookshelf Theater and the Ukiyo-e exhibition, which were very immersive. The staff were very friendly and, knowing I booked my tickets through KKday, quickly completed the ticket exchange process – very convenient!
The tour guide was very experienced. Fukiwari Falls is quite unique, unlike anything I'd ever imagined, and definitely worth seeing. The crab feast was an overwhelming amount of food; the crabs were huge, and there was also a large plate of fried mushrooms, beef, and soup. Except for the freshly grilled beef and soup, everything else was cold, and the crabs were just thawed. They were delicious, but having to peel them made the meal rushed. The subsequent apple picking was also all-you-can-eat, but even just one apple was more than you could eat. I really wish they could have negotiated that if each person could eat one apple or less, they could take it home in a bag 🥲. Kawagoe and Hikawa Shrine are both lovely little places, and it was a bit rushed to see everything, but just soaking in the atmosphere was wonderful.
Firstly, staying in Shinjuku or Ikebukuro is more economical. In Ikebukuro, take the Limited Express Seibu Line and transfer at Tokorozawa Station to Honkawagoe Station. The journey takes about an hour, and from there it's a ten-minute walk to the important Kawagoe landmark.
