Vietnamese Banh Mi Masterclass Go beyond a typical cooking class and develop a deeper understanding of authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi through a focused, hands-on masterclass with a professional Vietnamese chef. This masterclass is designed for participants who want to understand the techniques and principles behind Vietnamese bread, rather than simply follow a recipe. Learn how ingredients interact and how each stage of the process affects the final bread.
What You Will Learn
1. Dough & Ingredient Fundamentals: Understand the role of flour, yeast, water and other key ingredients, including how ingredient ratios influence dough structure and the final texture of the bread.
2. Mixing & Gluten Development: Learn how to recognize the correct dough development and understand when to stop mixing. Your chef will guide you through the signs of properly developed dough and how to avoid under- or over-mixing.
3. Fermentation & Dough Management: Learn how temperature, fermentation time and dough condition affect volume, texture and flavor. Understand how to adjust the process according to different working conditions.
4. Shaping & Baking: Practice shaping Vietnamese Banh Mi and learn how preparation before baking influences the characteristic thin crust and light, airy interior.
5. Traditional Vietnamese Pâté: Prepare Vietnamese-style pâté from scratch and learn how it contributes to the flavor and texture of a traditional Banh Mi.
6. Building a Balanced Banh Mi: Learn how bread, pâté and other fillings work together to create the balance of texture, aroma and flavor that defines Vietnamese Banh Mi
A Focused Learning Experience
With a maximum of 5 participants per session, the masterclass provides direct interaction with the chef and personalized guidance throughout the practical training.
You will not simply watch a demonstration. You will work with the dough, practice key techniques and receive professional feedback throughout the process.
At the end of the masterclass, you will receive the complete recipes and a cookbook so you can continue practicing and developing your Banh Mi skills independently.
