The Penglai Creek Fish Conservation Trail is an open-air natural attraction in Nanzhuang, Miaoli, and currently does not charge an entrance fee. Visitors can enter the trail for free to get a close-up view of the stream's ecosystem and fish. To preserve the natural environment, please adhere to the park regulations and help protect this precious ecological area.
The Penglai Creek Fish Conservation Trail is approximately 1.6 kilometers one way. At a normal walking pace, it usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes to walk one way. If you wish to leisurely observe the fish, take photos, and rest along the way, we recommend allowing 1.5 to 2 hours to fully enjoy the scenery of the trail.
To protect the precious fish resources and ecological environment of Penglai Creek, please strictly adhere to the 'no feeding, no fishing, no playing in the water, and no capturing' principles for fish conservation. Additionally, please do not litter and take your trash with you to help maintain the cleanliness and natural balance of the trail environment.
The Penglai Creek Fish Conservation Trail is generally a flat and easy route. The path is mostly paved with cement or flagstones, with minimal slopes. The trail is clearly marked and equipped with handrails and safety features. This trail is very suitable for the whole family, including children and seniors for a leisurely walk.
The firefly viewing season in the Nanzhuang area typically falls between April and May each year, with nighttime being the best time for observation. Besides areas around the Penglai Creek Fish Conservation Trail, fireflies may also be spotted near some B&Bs or in hidden trails. When viewing, please maintain silence and avoid using strong lights to prevent disturbing the fireflies' ecological activities.
It is recommended to wear comfortable, lightweight clothing and non-slip athletic shoes to navigate the potentially slippery trail surface. You may want to bring drinking water and mosquito repellent. Depending on the weather, consider bringing a hat, sun protection, or a light rain jacket. As it is a natural environment, it is advised to keep your voice down and avoid disturbing the wildlife.
