The aquarium isn't very big, but you can easily spend more than half a day there. You can feed the penguins for a fee, there are lots of adorable otters, and the dolphin and sea lion shows are great. Right now, there are even newborn dolphin babies appearing. You can also see penguins while dining at the restaurant... they're all super energetic.
In Zao Fox Village, many foxes roam freely around you. Afterwards, you'll be taken to Matsushima. The tour includes a voucher for trying Kamahō Honpo's hand-grilled fish cakes. You'll also receive a complimentary grilled oyster from Takejaku-an, which is quite delicious. There are many food trucks along the pier, creating a very chill atmosphere. The tour price also includes a ferry ticket for a coastal tour of Matsushima, one of Japan's three main islands. Overall, it's a wonderful trip where you can get up close to foxes and sample Matsushima's unique cuisine.
The driver was very considerate in arranging the itinerary, allowing us to return to the hotel smoothly before dark. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in KKday tours again next time.
For this trip to Chungson Temple and Nibi Creek, we opted for a chartered car tour because we were traveling with elderly relatives who didn't want to travel long distances and take public transportation. Everyone was very satisfied. The only minor drawback was that communication with the Japanese driver still required a group chat, with the company translating and informing the driver. This was slightly inconvenient when meeting up and getting into the car. However, the driver was extremely polite, and we received a lot of traditional Japanese hospitality, which made everyone very happy. If you have basic Japanese communication skills, I would definitely recommend this company for chartering a car when visiting Sendai!
The boat is large and comfortable, the cabin is well-maintained, and the fare is cheap for a 3.5-hour trip.
