This time, we chose a day trip with the two children. Under the guidance of our tour guide Yang Meng, we had a relaxed and comfortable time without any language barriers. She clearly explained where to meet. The advantage of a day trip is that the children don't have to walk all the time, and they can rest while traveling. The scenery along the way from Jigoku Onsen to Yufu-gaku is really beautiful. The tour guide even personally led everyone to Lake Kinrin, which was very thoughtful. We will definitely consider a Takachiho trip next time.
I went there because I heard that I could try my hand at perfume making. At first, I didn't have high expectations for the museum's exhibits, but I was pleasantly surprised. The corner on the second floor that explains the history of fragrance in particular was very informative, with detailed explanations of the history of fragrance in various countries and what fragrances are made of! The perfume making experience was also a lot of fun, as I struggled to come up with the perfect scent and my nose was a bit allergic, but we managed to create my own favorite perfume. I was with my child in the upper grades of elementary school, and he was delighted that he had created a perfume that he liked. It's a place I'd definitely like to visit again.
Purchase tickets online and simply show your QR code at the main entrance to enter; there are no physical tickets, and you don't need to go to the ticket window. The facilities are somewhat historical, but the children enjoyed them. The ticket price is acceptable, and the performers are very lively. Be sure to have a deep wallet for the gift area!
This was my first time joining a day tour on KKday, guided by Ms. Ishibashi. Previously, when traveling to various countries, including Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, France, Czech Republic, Prague, etc.), I always rented a car and drove myself. I was both excited and apprehensive about my first time on a group tour, worried that the guide and driver might not be a good fit and would spoil the trip. Let me tell you about the itinerary: My personal experience with Yufuin shows it takes at least three hours – it's incredibly fun and has amazing food; there's simply not enough time to see everything! I also saw some reviews saying it was boring after three hours; maybe they didn't get off the bus to explore? Actually, it's fantastic, I was almost misled! We didn't need to drive ourselves from Fukuoka, and I fell asleep as soon as we boarded the bus after registration. The two-hour journey each way was very smooth, and the guide let us rest and catch up on sleep – it was great! Ms. Ishibashi accompanied us on our way to Kinrin Lake and told us about some good food (grilled mushrooms). Being foodies, we immediately took note, but the shop wasn't open yet. We stood near the shop, keeping a close eye out for it to open. Luckily, Ms. Ishibashi had warned us beforehand that there would be long lines for the grilled mushrooms, so we didn't have to wait too long – we got our turn as soon as it opened! Our guide, Ms. Ishibashi, was very friendly and helpful. I had left some negative reviews about her before the trip, but after interacting with her and asking questions, it wasn't like those reviews described! She was always willing to talk and chat with us. Don't be misled by the reviews – the person who left those negative reviews is the one with the problem! Maybe they think they're some kind of princess or prince expecting to be waited on. All the photos were taken by Aifeng; the scenery is indeed beautiful and worth the trip.
Our tour guide, Li Chunxiang, was incredibly attentive and thorough! The itinerary was smoothly arranged, and even her dinner recommendations on the return trip were excellent. Great value for money!
The tour guide was Alex explained in great detail. The first stop is the Ruyi Wheel Temple, which is very special. If you go by yourself, you should miss this attraction, it has more than 5000 frog furnishings in this temple, very special, worth seeing. I think there is enough time to roam Yufuin Jinlin Lake and other places, and also to see the hell in Beppu and so on. This trip is not too rushed, you can roam, walk slowly and play, so it is worth attending, and if you go to Beppu and Yufuin by yourself, a day round trip simply can not be rushed. It's better to go with a group. No need to consider transportation arrangements.
It was a fantastic experience! The facilities were very friendly, and the animals were all so cute! You could even touch the seals and sea lions, and feed the otters – they were adorable! I highly recommend arriving early to find seats in the viewing area; it gets incredibly crowded.
