Overall, I was very satisfied with the trip. Our guide, Arpan, was attentive and professional, providing clear and thoughtful explanations. Although the journey to and from Tokyo was long, rest stops were arranged along the way, making it convenient to get off the bus, explore, and buy snacks. Kamikochi boasts beautiful scenery; the forest and flatland trails are easy to hike, and the lakes and mountains are breathtaking. Although the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Snow Wall is nearing its end, it remains spectacular and unforgettable, well worth a visit.
We'll meet at the designated location at 8:00 AM (Ms. Zhang is our guide today). At 9:20 AM, we'll stop at a rest stop for restroom breaks, and arrive at Kamikochi around 11:30 AM. The guide will introduce the Kamikochi trails on the bus and confirm your drop-off points. We'll disembark at Taisho Pond, and all return buses will depart from the main bus terminal. The guide will walk with us from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, and will also introduce delicious apple pie, Azumino yogurt, and more on the bus. We'll meet at 3:00 PM to prepare for the return trip, which will include one more rest stop. We'll arrive back at Nagoya Station around 6:46 PM. Due to a landslide on National Route 158, buses will need to take a detour, adding a little extra time to the journey. Otherwise, everything is fine. The weather in Kamikochi is fantastic—the wind is refreshing, and the water is crystal clear—it's truly chill. Although we spent a lot of time on transportation, it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend trying the yogurt; it's incredibly delicious!
1. Our tour guide, Liu Mei, was very attentive and provided excellent service, explaining everything in detail. We chose our seats first upon arrival at the meeting point. 2. The drive from Nagoya to Kamikochi takes four hours, but there are rest stops along the way, so it's not too tiring. 3. We had a four-hour stop in Kamikochi. We chose Route A, which involved about an hour and a half of walking for photos. There's a restaurant near Kappa Bridge where we could have lunch. On the way to the hotel, our guide was very kind and even took us to a supermarket to stock up on food for tomorrow's lunch. When some members of our group were late for the meeting in Kamikochi, our guide apologized to us. 4. Although the hotel we stayed at was a bit old, the buffet had a good variety of dishes. There were also indoor and outdoor hot springs for bathing. 5. We met at 7:30 am the next day and departed for Ogisawa Station, which took about 50 minutes. The guide explained all the transportation options in detail. It was a pity that we couldn't see the snow walls at Murodo Station due to heavy fog… 6. The return trip from Tateyama Station to Nagoya also takes four hours, with rest stops along the way.
I was lucky to arrive here before the weather turned bad. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, and the weather and temperature were just right. Although the tour guide didn't come along, the pre-trip briefing was very comprehensive, making it a wonderful trip.
