It was a fantastic itinerary, allowing us to easily visit two beautiful places by tour bus, saving us a lot of time. Since each type of transportation has its own specific departure times, and there were people to arrange and manage everything for us using all six types of transport, it saved us a lot of planning time, queuing, and waiting time – excellent! Our tour guide, Liu Mei, was also very attentive and considerate, providing dedicated service throughout the two-day trip. She took care of each of us wholeheartedly, even taking photos for every member of the group, and ensuring there was ample time at each attraction.
1. Our tour guide, Liu Chang, speaks fluent English and Chinese and provides clear and concise explanations. Before each group boards the bus, the friendly Liu is always waiting at the door with a flag, so there's no need to worry about finding the bus. 2. No need to transfer buses, saving time and providing a comfortable experience. The driver's smooth driving is reassuring. 3. The scenery at Kamikochi is beautiful and captivating. We'll have about 3.5 hours there. Walking to the Kappa Bridge area is relatively easy, but there are some shops and restaurants near the bridge. If you want to visit all of them (some food stalls may have queues), you should allow about an hour.
It's very convenient to travel directly from Tokyo to Kamikochi, but the journey is quite long, with approximately 3-4 hours actually allotted in Kamikochi. There will be two rest stops along the way for restroom breaks. There are no Chinese-speaking guides; you need to plan your route in advance. The driver will indicate the pick-up times. Kamikochi boasts beautiful scenery and is worth a visit, but the mountain weather is unpredictable, so be sure to bring rain gear.
If you bring your own food for lunch, you'll have enough time to walk to Myojin Pond. There are too many people having lunch at Kappa Bridge. Kamikochi is really beautiful, and we actually saw a little bear.
Choosing a day tour saves you the hassle of finding buses and the fatigue of driving yourself. While driving offers freedom, the driver is also a tourist, which can be exhausting! A day tour starts with confirming your guide in the morning, and the entire day is entrusted to them. We had a Chinese-speaking guide who shared the route through Kamikochi, highlighting key sights along the way and showing us local delicacies like ice cream, apple pie, and yakitori (a type of grilled meat). She took good care of us throughout the trip. Back in Nagoya, she even recommended must-see attractions and good dinner options. She was incredibly thoughtful and considerate – a fantastic experience! 👍👍👍
Our tour guide, Ms. Higuchi, was incredibly kind and attentive. We were the only Taiwanese in our group, and she took extra care of us. She worked so hard, setting off very early every morning while maintaining her warmth and enthusiasm for her guests. We are truly grateful to Ms. Higuchi. The scenery at Kamikochi is absolutely beautiful, and the water is crystal clear. I highly recommend everyone visit at least once!
