You need to pick it up at the information desk; you can use it by scanning a QR code with your phone. However, there aren't many brands available, so it's a small bonus. It's recommended to confirm before making the trip. Theoretically, the process of redeeming discount codes can be optimized and completed online.
The trip started from Narita Airport and went directly to Shimoda in Shizuoka Prefecture, and then to Kamakura. The JR Tokyo Wide Pass can save a lot of transportation costs and can be used for three consecutive days, which is very convenient.
Easy to use, signal is available as soon as you get off the plane. Except for Mount Fuji, which is a bit remote and has no signal, there is signal everywhere else. 21GB is more than enough. Thumbs up! 👍
I visited on a weekday in May 2026. I booked on the day because I was worried about the weather and my health, but I was still able to buy tickets cheaper than at the counter, which was a great help. Upon entry, you show a QR code for each person, but if you only play in the free areas of the park, you don't need to use the QR code multiple times as a kind of queue ticket, and we also received paper tickets for re-entry. I paid for the whole family together through KKday, and there were no problems. These days, many theme parks require each person to have their own smartphone and QR code, which can be inconvenient for toddlers and elementary school children, but Moominvalley Park didn't have that kind of inconvenience. (As of May 2026)
There was a light drizzle and mist when we arrived, but it didn't detract from the beautiful scenery; it added a unique charm. Both churches are worth visiting, but unfortunately, there was a wedding that day, so we couldn't go inside.
