I participated in the "Aegibong Starbucks Half-Day Tour," and the overall experience was exquisite and unforgettable. From the moment we met, our guide, Bella, greeted each traveler with a warm and friendly smile. During the drive to the attractions, she explained the history and background of the division between North and South Korea in a simple and easy-to-understand way, giving everyone a deeper understanding of the places we would be visiting. Upon arriving at Aegibong, Bella enthusiastically led us to the famous "Aegibong Starbucks," where we could enjoy coffee while looking towards North Korea. She also carefully demonstrated how to use binoculars to observe North Korean villages and shared many interesting anecdotes related to the area, making the entire trip full of surprises and learning. On the return trip, Bella answered every question, sharing not only the real experiences of North Korean defectors but also discussing the differences between the current situations in North and South Korea, interspersed with many lighthearted and interesting stories, allowing everyone to gain a wealth of knowledge and insights. This trip was conducted in a luxurious 12-seater van, with spacious and comfortable seats, allowing everyone to relax comfortably or enjoy the scenery along the way. Overall, this is a highly recommended in-depth travel itinerary, especially suitable for travelers who enjoy learning about history and culture while traveling, or those planning to take their elders on a trip. The itinerary starts around 9:30 AM in Hongdae and ends around 2:00 PM, the timing is perfect—not too rushed, yet you'll leave with a wealth of experiences. Highly recommended!
We booked a car for three people, with three large suitcases and one small carry-on. The car that arrived was large enough to be considered a business class car. It was comfortable and clean, and the car was easy to sit in without any sudden stops or braking. The driver, who spoke Chinese, didn't chatter around. The trip went smoothly. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide, Yin, was very friendly. When we were waiting for the bus on the side of the road in Hongdae, he took the initiative to talk to us and asked questions. He was able to communicate in both Chinese and English. He was also very enthusiastic in helping us take photos at the scenic spots. The time reserved for each attraction was also very sufficient. It was very interesting to be able to get a glimpse of North Korea in the DMZ. We also had a Starbucks. The Hanok Village is very beautiful.
I've been here for over a month and haven't been able to think of anywhere to go (mainly because it's so crowded everywhere during the long weekend). So I signed up for a day trip with kkday. Alex and Hong were very thorough in explaining the historical background. It was the closest I've ever been to North Korea. The best part was that there was no forced shopping. The whole trip was incredibly rewarding. I gained a deeper understanding of inter-Korean relations. At the observatory, you can use a telescope to peek into the North Korean people and their living conditions. Many places are restricted areas, so taking photos isn't allowed, but they're all embedded in my head! I loved visiting the Third Tunnel (a tunnel secretly dug by North Korea to invade the South). It was a super workout, haha, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have weak knees, backs, or heart and lungs.
