We boarded at Kyoto Station and met at the designated meeting point on time. The tour guide, holding a GOGODAY sign, helped us find our way. The bus driver was professional and courteous; we were lucky to have Wu Yiyu as our guide – friendly, articulate, and a professional tour leader. On the bus, she provided brief introductions to the attractions in both English and Chinese, reminding us of meeting times. She managed the time well for each attraction, allowing us to visit four sites in one day – a truly fulfilling day! ☆ Sanzen-in Temple is the most beautiful spot; there's ample time for photos or lunch. ☆ Shirahisa Shrine is difficult to access, so a tour is the best option. ☆ Mangetsu-ji Temple offers close-up views of Lake Biwa and is a popular spot for locals. ☆ La Collina Omihachiman is very crowded on weekends; if possible, avoid weekends. One hour is enough for photos and to enjoy a Baumkuchen.
The itinerary was well-planned, the tour guide was professional and knowledgeable, and the vehicles were new, but the meals were subpar; improvements are needed.
This was my first time taking a day trip to Arashiyama. The train journey offered beautiful views, and we could even wave and interact with other passengers on the boat. Then we went on the boat, which was a lot of fun. The boatman interacted with us throughout the trip, explaining the plants, animals, and scenery we saw. Next, we strolled along the bamboo grove path to enjoy the views, and then explored the Arashiyama shopping street, where there were many delicious snacks. Our guide, Xiao Xie, was very friendly and kind, leaving us with wonderful memories!
