The Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art, located in Kanazawa and adjacent to Kenrokuen Garden, is a comprehensive museum housing iconic artworks from Ishikawa Prefecture. It comprehensively exhibits everything from renowned Kutani artifacts and treasures passed down through generations of the Maeda family of the Kaga Domain to Japanese paintings, Western paintings, sculptures, and crafts primarily created by Ishikawa artists. Among them, the National Treasure "Iroekijikoro" (Iroeki Pheasant Incense Burner) by Jinsei Nonomura is a must-see. Visitors can also experience the exquisite craftsmanship of artisans up close with daimyo tools made in Kaga maki-e style and traditional crafts that are Living National Treasures.
