Our discovery tour begins at one of the most spectacular vantage points in the lagoon city: near the majestic Baroque church of Santa Maria della Salute.
From here, we slowly leave the hustle and bustle behind and immerse ourselves in the quieter streets of Dorsoduro. We stroll past the unfinished palazzo of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, where modern art meets Venetian elegance, and turn into the labyrinth of quiet side streets.
Our path leads us to one of the most iconic places in Venice: the Squero di San Trovaso, one of the last traditional gondola shipyards where the elegant black boats are still handcrafted today.
We will pass by one of the city's most famous and traditional gelaterias – the perfect opportunity to enjoy a real Venetian ice cream while taking in the view of the canal.
Just a few bridges further on, we are suddenly in the middle of Hollywood: We visit the location that served as a backdrop for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, among other films.
For the grand finale, we leave the daylight behind and enter the Church of San Sebastiano. This place of worship is an absolute insider tip for art lovers: It houses the largest and most impressive cycle of frescoes and paintings by Paolo Veronese, who almost single-handedly transformed the church into a walk-in masterpiece of the Renaissance.
