Abseil Tour
Discover a hidden underground world beneath Rijeka on this unique adventure through the unfinished San Giovanni fortress. Stretching over 550 metres, this World War II military complex combines raw natural rock with impressive concrete structures, creating an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the city.
Once forgotten and inaccessible, the fortress has recently been restored and opened to visitors, offering a rare opportunity to explore one of Rijeka's most intriguing hidden landmarks.
The experience begins with a safety briefing and introduction to abseiling equipment. After a short practice session and demonstration, you'll make your descent down a natural rock face and enter the underground fortress.
Inside, you'll explore vast tunnels and chambers while discovering the stories behind this remarkable site. Special effects and immersive storytelling bring the underground world to life, creating an unforgettable journey beneath the city.
The Abseil tour includes one or two beginner-friendly descent options. Start with a simple walking descent and, if you're feeling confident, try a more adventurous vertical drop. No previous experience is required, and our instructors provide full guidance and safety support throughout the activity.
