商品說明
Between 1789 and 1804, Caen went through a decade of profound upheaval. Behind the major dates of the French Revolution, an entire city changed its face: its squares became places of debate and tension, its religious buildings were transformed or repurposed, and its inhabitants had to deal with a world in the midst of a complete reorganization.
This guided tour offers you the opportunity to rediscover Caen through its streets and characters, following in the footsteps of those who lived through these turbulent years. From Place Saint-Sauveur, the scene of gatherings and revolts, to the old religious buildings disrupted by the Revolution, and the major transformations of the urban landscape, you will understand how the city adapted, divided, and was sometimes torn apart.
We will also discuss important figures such as Charlotte Corday, born in this vibrant Normandy, as well as the major political milestones that shaped life in Caen. Amidst hope, tensions, and ruptures, this tour invites you to see Caen differently: not as a city frozen in time, but as a living space, deeply marked by the Revolution.
Starting point: Parvis de la Mairie (former Abbaye aux Hommes) Arrival point: Château de Caen
