商品說明
Experience an extraordinary city tour through wintry Zwickau and immerse yourself in the fascinating connection between the Reformation and Christmas customs. Accompanied by a costumed city guide, you will learn how Martin Luther and the Reformers permanently changed Christmas in Zwickau and the foothills of the Erzgebirge. Discover how the gift-bearer Nicholas became Santa Claus and why new Christmas carols such as "Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her" were created. Find out why the first Advent wreath had 28 candles and what the candles on the Schwibbogen are all about.
The guided tour begins at the town hall and takes you across the festively decorated Hauptmarkt with its illuminated pyramid, the imposing Christmas tree, and the Schwibbogen. Continue to the Kornmarkt with its lovingly decorated stalls before admiring the special nativity scene by Jo Harbort and St. Mary's Cathedral in the Domhof. On the north side of the cathedral, figures of Luther, the lyricist Paul Speratus, Nikolaus Hermann, the Meistersinger Hans Sachs, and many other personalities await you. Enjoy the atmospheric flair of Zwickau's city center and be inspired by the stories and traditions surrounding Christmas.
The guided tour ends again centrally at the town hall, so you can then continue to enjoy the Christmas hustle and bustle in Zwickau. Questions and a lively exchange are expressly encouraged – feel free to bring your own memories of Christmas.
