商品說明

Skopje street food is burek with drinkable yogurt, pepper and aubergine spreads with white cheese, kebapi off the charcoal and heritage sweets. A local guide with an international background walks you through all four, on a route linking the stalls and family run rooms where Skopje residents actually eat.

We start at Farmers' Market Bunjakovec with burek still warm from a neighbourhood bakery, and talk about dough, fillings, and why Macedonians drink yogurt with it instead of coffee. Then into the market alleys for whatever the season is doing, vegetables, spices, fruit and sometimes honey, with your guide translating and haggling as required.

Midday brings the taste of summer to a kafana table. Pepper and aubergine spreads, the white cheese that belongs beside them, bread, and the small plates that keep arriving because that is how a Macedonian table is built rather than served. Eat slowly. The next stop is a walk away.

From the kafana we cross Debar Maalo, the bohemian quarter where the city goes out. Kebapi come off the charcoal, soft flatbread tears at the table, and the ordering is done for you.

We finish sweet. The last stoped is reserved for centuries old dessert recipes, while your guide explains how these dishes travelled here and what the bazaar had to do with it.

We handle the ordering and the translation, tailor portions to appetite and dietary needs, and keep the walking short. It is a paced tasting journey rather than one heavy meal, so you leave comfortably full with a list of addresses and the confidence to use them on your own. Come hungry and ask questions.

The walk runs about 2 hours 45 minutes and group size is 2 to 18. A rakija tasting is available as an optional upgrade at booking.
