商品說明
Your day begins with hotel pickup in Jiayuguan and a visit to the Xincheng Wei–Jin Mural Tombs. Dating back over 1,600 years, these underground tombs are famous for their vivid murals depicting daily life, banquets, travel scenes, and social customs of the Wei and Jin dynasties. They offer a rare and intimate glimpse into ancient frontier life along the Silk Road.
Next, head to the Overhanging Great Wall, a dramatic section of the Great Wall clinging to steep ridges of the Black Mountain. Built during the Ming Dynasty, this section was designed for both defense and visibility, resembling an arm stretching into the desert. Walking here provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and showcases the strategic brilliance of ancient military engineering.
Continue to the iconic Jiayuguan Fortress, the westernmost major pass of the Ming Great Wall and one of China’s best-preserved frontier fortresses. Often called the “First Pass Under Heaven,” the fortress once marked the edge of imperial China. Explore its gates, towers, and walls while learning stories of soldiers, merchants, and exiles who once passed through this legendary gateway.
Your journey concludes at The First Pier of the Great Wall, where the Great Wall meets the edge of the Gobi Desert near a dried riverbed. This windswept site marks the western end of the Ming Great Wall and offers a powerful sense of isolation, history, and the vast landscapes that defined China’s ancient frontiers.
After the visit, return to Jiayuguan city, bringing the day to a close.
