Escape Ulaanbaatar and experience the contrasting landscapes and culture of Mongolia on this 3-day adventure. Explore the golden sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai (Mini Gobi), ride a camel, experience traditional nomadic life, visit the iconic Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, ride a Mongolian horse through Terelj National Park, and discover Turtle Rock and Aryabal Meditation Temple.
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar – Mini Gobi
Depart Ulaanbaatar in the morning from your hotel and drive west toward Elsen Tasarkhai. Airport pickup is available on request for an additional fee.
Elsen Tasarkhai is part of the 80-kilometer-long Mongol Els sand dune system and is one of Mongolia's most striking landscapes. Here, golden sand dunes meet green grasslands, granite mountains and clear water, creating a unique transition between the Gobi and Khangai natural regions.
After lunch, explore the dunes on foot, climb the sand and enjoy a guided ride on a two-humped Bactrian camel. In the evening, stay at a traditional Mongolian ger camp and enjoy dinner in the peaceful countryside.
Day 2: Mini Gobi – Chinggis Khan Statue Complex – Terelj National Park
After breakfast, travel toward Tsonjin Boldog to visit the impressive Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue Complex, located approximately 54 km from Ulaanbaatar.
The 40-meter-tall statue is one of Mongolia's most iconic landmarks. Walk through the statue and climb to the viewing platform at the horse's head for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Visit the museum to learn about Mongolia's history, including the Bronze Age, Xiongnu period and the era of the Great Khan. You can also try traditional Mongolian and warrior costumes for photos.
Continue to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, where you will enjoy approximately 1 hour of horse riding through the surrounding landscape.
Spend the night in a ger camp with shared accommodation. Each ger accommodates 2–3 guests and the guesthouse provides shower facilities, electricity and Wi-Fi.
Day 3: Terelj National Park – Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, explore two of Terelj National Park's most famous sights: the iconic Turtle Rock and the peaceful Aryabal Meditation Temple. Enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery before beginning the drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
Stop for lunch along the way before arriving in Ulaanbaatar at approximately 5–6 PM.
Your 3-day adventure concludes with drop-off at your accommodation in Ulaanbaatar.
