-What you can expect- Your day begins with your guide picking you up from your hotel lobby. You'll then embark on a comfortable 1.5-hour journey to the Mutianyu Great Wall. During the journey, your guide will share fascinating insights into the Great Wall's ancient defensive role, the dynasties that built and maintained it, and intriguing local tales.
Upon arrival, you can choose to take a cable car or ski lift to bypass any strenuous uphill hikes. You can then explore at your own pace, strolling along the battlements and pausing at beacon towers to enjoy panoramic mountain views. Feel free to ask your guide any questions you may have. There's no rush – just easy, enjoyable discovery.
After exploring the Great Wall, you'll take a break to enjoy a delicious lunch inspired by local cuisine. In the afternoon, the group will visit the Summer Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China’s best-preserved imperial gardens. Your guide will highlight details in the thousands of historical and mythical paintings, share insights into Kunming Lake's role in the design of the garden, and explain the stories behind iconic landmarks such as the Marble Boat and Longevity Hill.
The day will conclude with a comfortable ride back to your hotel, bringing to a close a truly memorable experience.
