In Assisi, you will explore some of Christianity’s most revered sites: • The Basilica of St. Francis, adorned with Giotto’s masterpiece frescoes that bring the stories of the saint to life. • The serene Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore where the revered Saint Carlo. • The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, sheltering the Porziuncola, the cradle of the Franciscan Order.
In Cascia, you will visit the Sanctuary of St. Rita, the saint of impossible causes, where you can experience moments of deep devotion and be inspired by her enduring miracles. The journey from Rome to Umbria—through Cascia and Assisi—is simply magnificent. The panoramic landscapes alone are a breathtaking part of the experience. Along the way, you’ll see towering trees of all shapes and heights, each like a piece of natural art. They stand almost like Gothic spires, as if they’re worshiping the sky. We offer flexibility to tailor your experience. If you wish, a local guide can accompany you in Assisi or Cascia to provide deeper insights. We kindly ask for 24-48 hours’ notice for these arrangements.
Your pilgrimage includes an audio guide for independent exploration and the opportunity to arrange special moments, such as attending Mass. We will also ensure a break to enjoy a local lunch, savoring the authentic flavors of Umbria.
