Start your tour of the Doge's Palace in the best way possible by skipping the long lines to get in. Once inside, your guide will introduce you to the features of the palace and immerse you in the history of "La Serenissima" (Republic of Venice).
Built in a Venetian Gothic style, the palace was the official residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Republic of Venice. Travel back in time to the city's golden age and walk through some of its most important places from the time. Marvel at the lavish apartments of the Doge and the spacious enclosed courtyards and see masterpieces of art by Titian, Veronese and Tintoretto along the way.
Enter the Opera Museum, where many of the 14th-century capitals can now be seen complete with allegorical engravings that mix the sacred and profane, history and legend, astronomy and astrology. Discover the ancient entrance of the Doge's Palace along with the Giants' Staircase in the internal courtyard. Look at the statues of Mars and Neptune, find the Atrium that served as a waiting room, and go to the Golden Staircase with its marble statues of Atlas and Hercules.
Cross the legendary Bridge of Sighs from the inside and discover how the Doge's Palace was connected to its prisons, where former inmates include Casanova.
