Signalkuppe 2-day ski tour private mountain guide from Zermatt

Signalkuppe is a beautiful peak in the Monte Rosa massif near Zermatt. At 4,553 metres, it towers above most of the surrounding peaks. On the Italian side of the mountain stands Capanna Margherita, the highest building in Europe.

This two-day tour takes you via the Schwarztor to the summit of Signalkuppe. You’ll be accompanied by an experienced private mountain guide. You should also have extensive experience on 4,000-metre peaks and in Alpine climbing at grades III to IV. It’s important to acclimatise on another tour before the ascent.

You’ll meet your mountain guide in the morning at the Matterhorn Express valley station. Together, you’ll take the lift up to Klein Matterhorn station. From there, you’ll ski via the Lower Theodul Glacier or the Schwarztor to the Gorner Glacier, then climb up to the Monte Rosa Hut. After an overnight stay, you’ll set off again at 03:00. You’ll now climb via the Grenz Glacier to Signalkuppe. Finally, you’ll ski back down to Zermatt together.
