Walk on the seabed and explore gullies, cross sand bars, and explore rock pools as you walk to Seymour Tower, 1.5 miles offshore. Discover Jersey’s marine wilderness with local English-speaking guides who are passionate about the area.

Revel in the stillness and expanse of an area covered twice a day by some of the highest tides in the world (40ft). These walks are also called “Moonwalks” because of the lunar-like rock formations. However, the area is full of marine and bird life and has a rich maritime history.

Today, this intertidal area is a World Wetlands (Ramsar) site and is part of the Jersey Tidal Trail and GeoPark.

Enjoy the experience of being away from the sounds and activities of everyday life in a place that is neither sea nor land.

This walk is in English. Contact us in advance if you want to arrange a private walk in German (subject to staff being available).

3 hours duration. Wellington boots can be hired for £1 per pair if requested in advance. Please pay cash on the day.

The guided walk starts from La Rocque Harbour (by the yellow phone box and bus stop), La Grande Route des Sablons, Grouville, on the south east coast of Jersey.

  • Know Before You Go: This walk is English. Private walks in German on other dates can sometimes be arranged if requested in advance.

  • Know Before You Go: The walk is across uneven and wet terrain on the seabed - like walking a couple of miles on a coastal cliff path- with stops to observe marine life.

  • Know Before You Go: If you are unsure about your fitness level, contact us before booking.

  • Know Before You Go: Be prepared to get wet to just below the knees (Wellington boots can be hired).

  • Know Before You Go: Bring a snack and a drink.

  • Know Before You Go: Hat for sunny/cooler days. Sunblock (SPF 35+).

  • Know Before You Go: Arrive 10 minutes before the start.

  • Know Before You Go: Please tell us in advance if you have any health issues, medical conditions, or special needs we should be aware of. For example, Asthma, Allergies, Diabetes type 1 or 2 -remember to bring something to eat with you-, Heart issues, Epilepsy, Mobility issues, and any special needs.

  • Know Before You Go: Please let us know if you (or anyone in your party) is neurodivergent, any strengths that come with your/their neurodivergence, and any adjustments we could make to help you enjoy the activity.
