Embark on an unforgettable Northern Lights adventure from Reykjavík aboard a specially modified Super Jeep. Enjoy convenient pick-up from your hotel or designated meeting point before heading into the Icelandic countryside, far away from the city's light pollution in search of the Aurora Borealis.

To maximize your chances of witnessing this spectacular natural phenomenon, your guide will carefully select the viewing location based on the latest weather, cloud cover, and aurora forecasts. Unlike larger tour buses, the Super Jeep can access remote and less crowded areas, providing a more exclusive and intimate Northern Lights experience.

Throughout the tour, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating insights into the science behind the Northern Lights, as well as Icelandic folklore and local stories connected to the Aurora. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available onboard, and you'll be treated to a warm cup of hot chocolate while enjoying the Arctic night sky.

Your guide will also be happy to assist with photos, helping you capture unforgettable memories beneath the dancing lights. After the tour, you will be driven back to Reykjavík and dropped off at your hotel or designated drop-off point.

  • This tour operates during the Northern Lights season only, typically from autumn through spring (approximately September to April). The tour is not available during the summer months due to extended daylight hours and the absence of dark skies required for Northern Lights viewing.
  • If your tour operates under favorable forecast conditions but no Northern Lights are seen, you will receive a complimentary ticket for a standard Northern Lights bus tour. This offer may be redeemed multiple times, subject to availability, until you eventually witness the magical display.
  • Passengers with disabilities intending to travel with Reykjavik Excursions are kindly asked to contact Reykjavik Excursions with at least 24 hours notice in order for the company to be able to cater for needs, if possible.
  • Pets are not allowed on coach tours.

  • We operate this tour only when weather and Aurora forecasts indicate favorable viewing conditions. However, please note that Northern Lights sightings cannot be guaranteed. As a natural phenomenon, the Aurora is inherently unpredictable and remains beyond our control, even under the most promising forecast conditions.

  • We reserve the right to cancel tours when a minimum number of passengers is not met.

  • Please dress warmly and wear appropriate winter clothing, as temperatures can be very cold while waiting outdoors for the Northern Lights to appear. We recommend bringing extra layers, gloves, a hat, and sturdy footwear for maximum comfort. If needed, you can always return to the vehicle to warm up during the tour.
