Discover the city of Chiclayo on a guided tour. Visit the Paseo de las Musas, the main park, the Cathedral of Chiclayo, the Municipal Palace, and the Mercado Modelo.

Start your tour by being picked up from your hotel in Chiclayo. Visit the Paseo de las Musas, an urban park with many squares surrounded by beautiful gardens and flowers, as well as sculptures of 9 muses from Greek mythology made by the sculpture Miguel Ángel Díaz Dávila.

Continue your tour until reaching the main park. Enjoy panoramic views of commercial malls, the old cinema, and the beautiful Cathedral. The Cathedral of Chiclayo, or Santa Maria Cathedral, began construction in 1869 and ended in 1939 due to lack of funds. The Cathedral’s design is by Gustave Eiffel and it has a neoclassical style.

The city of Chiclayo was founded in 1720 by the Spanish as a place to rest for the merchants during the colonial period. Then, reach the Municipal Palace. This Republican monument offers amazing exhibitions of local photographers in their beautiful rooms.

Chiclayo is home to pre-Inca cultures such as the Moche and is the place where the tomb of the Lord of Sipan or Huaca Rajada was found. End the excursion by visiting the Mercado Modelo, also known as the Witch Market of Chiclayo, a place where you can find everything, including products related to witchcraft.
