Ylläs: Fireside tasting in a traditional lavvo｜Finland

Experience an intimate Arctic fireside tasting in a traditional lavvo in Ylläs. Hosted by a local guide, this small-group evening (maximum 6 guests) invites you to gather around the open fire and discover authentic Lappish flavors in a peaceful forest setting.

Over glowing embers, enjoy savory pancakes topped with smoked reindeer meat and a creamy mousse made from sour cream, cream cheese, lingonberries and red onions. Finish with traditional Lappish squeaky cheese served with cloudberries & caramel sauce. Alcohol-free Glögi is brewed over the fire. Vegetarian and vegan options with local mushrooms are available upon request.

Just like life in the North, Lappish food is simple and seasonal, prepared with care and respect for the ingredients.

As you dine, your host shares stories of life in Finnish Lapland – its nature, culture and Arctic rhythms. In the calm glow of the fire, conversations unfold naturally, and you are welcome to ask anything you would like to know about life in the North.

This evening is not about fine dining, but about gathering around the fire, sharing stories and experiencing Lapland in a calm and personal way.

Designed for guests aged 14 and above, this experience offers a peaceful and intimate atmosphere around the fire.

The tasting takes place outdoors in a traditional lavvo and is weather-dependent. In rare cases of extreme temperatures (around –30°C) or safety-related conditions, the evening may be cancelled for comfort and safety. We will get in touch with you and you will receive a full refund.
