Colonial Quito.
Quito was the first UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site declared in 1978. It boasts the largest colonial town in the Americas, featuring an eclectic architecture ranging from modern quarters to varied colonial facades on churches and private residences, with balconies built over the last five centuries.
Visit the gothic Basilica del Voto Nacional and the Independence Plaza, flanked by the Presidential and Archbishop’s palaces, dating back to the 17th and 19th centuries. Experience the spirit of Quito by walking to the Metropolitan Cathedral, which showcases excellent samples of the Spanish Renaissance.

Just 11 miles north of the city, the Middle of the World Complex offers a must-see destination where you can stand at the iconic Equator Monument at 0°0’00” latitude.
Built-in the 18th century by the French Geodesic Expedition, this site features one of the three pyramids marking Earth’s center. Explore charming Spanish colonial architecture, a central plaza, a historic church, and a bullfighting ring— blending history, culture, and adventure in one unforgettable visit. Or we can also visit the Intiñan Solar Museum, where you’ll find scientific and experimental aspects of being right at the Equator.
