Giới thiệu sản phẩm

Cross a frozen lagoon and touch a centuries-old glacier on this winter ice trek to Ojo del Albino, with certified mountain guides born in Ushuaia and a maximum group size of 5 people.

Difficulty: High. Distance: 18 km (11.2 miles), round trip. Elevation gain: 800 meters (2,625 feet).

After being picked up in Ushuaia, we drive to the start of the trail. We trek for an hour through Patagonian forest to Emerald Lagoon, one of the few turquoise lagoons below the tree line in the region. We'll take a break for photos and a snack, and then continue along a much less traveled path. The forest opens up, and rock walls, meltwater streams, and small hanging glaciers appear as we gain altitude. Soon, Tierra Mayor Valley is at our feet: a vantage point that very few people reach.

After about three hours, we put on our helmets for the more technical section, with constant assistance from the tour guide. The reward: Ojo del Albino Lagoon appears, a sky-blue body of water with the glacier beside it. We cross the frozen lagoon and reach the front of the glacier to touch ice that is hundreds of years old. Along the way, we see a natural ice tunnel in a nearby glacier.

We have lunch in the shelter with a hot infusion and hot chocolate before the long and technical descent back to the drop-off, already thinking about the hot shower.

In the event of a weather warning in the days prior to the activity, a refund of the reservation or a rescheduling of the activity to a date close to the original one will be offered.
