Begin your excursion to the Atuel Canyon, one of the most beautiful and impressive landscapes in the southern part of the province, known as San Rafael, located 250 km from the city of Mendoza.

Travel through this incredible landscape along the narrow Atuel Canyon, following its course several kilometers downstream from the Valle Grande reservoir. The canyon stretches approximately 50 km and has an average depth of 260 meters.

Admire the erosion caused by wind and water from the Atuel River, which has shaped surprising rock formations over time — each with its own name: the Beggar, the Conifer Forest, the Hanging Gardens, the Elephant, the Lizard, and many more.

Throughout the journey, pass by the hydroelectric power plants that are part of the Atuel River’s energy system. Upon reaching Valle Grande, conclude your tour of the Atuel Canyon with a group lunch and the option to enjoy activities such as walking to the Valle Grande Dam or taking a boat ride along the Atuel River.
