Luoyang: Shaolin Temple and Longmen Grottoes Day Trip｜China

In the morning, your private guide will picked you up at your accommodation in Luoyang downtown or Luoyang Longmen Railway station and then head directly to Shaolin Scenic spot byt he air-conditioned vehicle.
Enjoy a 1.2 hours ride to Shaolin Temple. Your excellent and knowledgeable tour guide will explain the relate histories and interesting stories along the way, feel free to ask any questions if you have!
Move on to explore the Shaolin Temple which was first constructed in 495 A.D. Later, Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-557) had the temple built to accommodate the Indian master Batuo. As Chinese Kungfu also originated from Shaolin Temple, it has been recognized as the origin of Chan Buddhism and the cradle of Kungfu. Stroll through the buildings and courtyards with your tour guide, gain deep insight into the history and the Shaolin monks life in the temple.
And then witness the real Kungfu performed by Shaolin monks at Shaolin Temple theater. And then you will have a one-hour Kungfu training class at Dengfeng Martial art school.
Afterwards, you will explore the Pagoda Forest which is a concentration of tomb pagodas for eminent monks and abbots of the temple.There are more than 240 tomb pagodas of various sizes from the Tang, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (618-1911), making it the biggest pagoda forest in China.
After that you will go back to Luoyang to visit one of the most famous Grotto art in China-Longmen Grottoes.It has more than 100,000 different sizes of Buddhist statues. The largest Buddhist statue is over 17.14 meters high which the masterpiece of Tang Dynasty is. It enjoys the honorary title of Mona Lisa’s smile in China.
Finally, you will go to Luoyang hotel or Luoyang Longmen Railway station.
