Step into a cozy tufting studio, just minutes from St. Peter's Basilica, and create your very own custom rug to take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir made entirely by you.
Whether you're an absolute beginner or simply looking to try something new, this guided tufting workshop is the perfect creative activity for couples, families, friends, and solo travelers. With expert instruction and all materials provided, you'll learn the exciting art of tufting while creating a personalized piece you'll cherish long after your trip to Rome.
To make the most of your workshop time, you'll be contacted before your visit so you can choose the design you'd like to create. Once you've selected your favorite design, your tufting frame will be prepared in advance by transferring the pattern onto the backing fabric. This allows you to begin tufting as soon as you arrive, giving you more time to enjoy the creative process instead of waiting for setup.
Choose from a wide variety of designs, from cute characters and playful shapes to flowers, abstract art, geometric patterns, initials, symbols, and more. Whether you want something fun, modern, or completely unique, there's a design for every style.
When you arrive at the studio, friendly instructors will introduce you to the tufting process and demonstrate how to safely and confidently use the tufting gun. Learn how to operate a tufting gun safely, follow your chosen design with precision, blend colors for eye-catching results, create clean outlines and smooth textures, and trim and shape your rug for a professional finish.
No previous experience is necessary. You'll be guided every step of the way, making this workshop fun, relaxing, and accessible for everyone. Once you're comfortable with the tufting gun, you'll bring your design to life using colorful, high-quality yarns. Watching your artwork gradually transform into a soft, textured rug is one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
After you've completed your tufted design, your rug requires a professional finishing process. To ensure your creation is durable and long-lasting, a special adhesive is applied to the back of the rug and the backing material is securely attached. The adhesive needs time to dry and cure properly, so your rug cannot be taken home immediately after the workshop. Your finished rug will be ready for pickup the following day.
