ข้อมูลสินค้า

The Jewish community of Rome is one of the oldest in the world, and its history spans more than two thousand years of the city's life. Strolling through the narrow streets of the Ghetto, we will discover how a small community that arrived in ancient Rome managed to survive empires, popes, persecutions, and transformations of the city.

Our route will follow in the footsteps of the Roman Jews from the first settlements in the Trastevere area to the Portico of Ottavia, the heart of the district where the papal ghetto was established in 1555. Here, among narrow alleys and buildings leaning against each other, an intense life of crafts, traditions, culture, and resilience developed for centuries.

Walking among the remains of ancient Rome, medieval buildings, and more recent architecture, we will arrive at the majestic Synagogue, built in 1904 as a symbol of freedom after the end of the ghetto. But this walk will also tell the story of the most dramatic pages of the 20th century, with the memory of the Nazi deportation of 1943.

A route full of stories, curiosities, and human events that reveals one of the most fascinating and profound neighborhoods in Rome, where every street holds a fragment of memory.
